It is later revealed by Garrick Ollivander that he won the wand's allegiance from Pettigrew, so it serves him properly. In the seventh book, during the Skirmish at the Malfoy Manor, Ron disarms Pettigrew and subsequently uses this wand.Finally, it is also shorter than average, denoting that his character is lacking in some area (most likely his courage and loyalty). It also has a very warped, bent, zig-zag shape this suggests Wormtail preferred less refined, crueller and more primitive forms of magic, referring to his magical mastery (or lack thereof) and his villainy. It is also described as brittle, which is appropriate considering how weak Wormtail was. Indeed, Pettigrew's wand seems to be a very fitting match for its owner chestnut and dragon heartstring is a combination that seeks out the materialistic and morally grey.

Pettigrew's wand displayed on Marauder's wand set as sold by the Noble Collection The wand is not currently sold singularly. A Marauder's Map themed wall display is included. However, as of at least January of 2020, the wand is sold by the Noble Collection as part of a display set that also includes the wands of the other three Marauders: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and James Potter. It could be due to the unpopularity of Pettigrew's character among both fans and characters. His wand was previously one of the few major characters' wands not to be sold on the Noble Collection.However, given Pettigrew's betrayal of both Ron and his relatives and his friends, as well as Pettigrew's role in the Return of Lord Voldemort, it is unlikely that Ron permanently kept the wand. This was the first wand that was stated specifically to be made for one particular person in mind. It is possible that this became Ron's third wand. Ron won its allegiance when he wrested it from Pettigrew's hand and because Ron's own wand had been taken by Snatchers, he subsequently used Pettigrew's. The wand was forcefully taken from Pettigrew in Malfoy Manor in 1998 by Ron Weasley during the course of his and Harry Potter's escape from the dungeons. I then used this as the pour spout, but also to suspend the stone into the mold jacket, ready for the silicone.Sometime between Pettigrew committing a mass murder to frame Sirius Black and his reunion with Lord Voldemort, he apparently lost his previous wand, as in 1996, Ollivander was forced to construct this new one for him. I used the handle from an old paintbrush, and hot glued it to the back of the stone in a convenient little nook. The casting process itself was pretty straight forward. I did a little shaping to the obsidian before casting, which mainly involved hitting it with a hammer, and hoping too much didn't break off. When it finally arrived, I grabbed some silicone (Polycraft K4 Translucent Addition Cure Silicone Shore A40), and went about making a mold jacket on the 3D printer, ready for casting. (It took a month to travel about 50 miles.)

After finding a listing which was actually selling the piece that was pictured,a £9 purchase later, I awaited the postman. So I started with a search on Etsy for a piece of Obsidian, as I thought this would provide me with the best base. I did look at the Noble Collection stone, and though the price wasn't too bad overall, the maker in me thought ' I can totally make that myself!' I set myself an additional challenge too I wanted to make it for less than the £85 price of the Noble prop.

The BuildWhilst putting my Potter collection together, I realised that I didn't have a rather key prop from the series - The Philosopher's Stone. I put the finishing touches to this one this morning, so thought I'd share it here.
